A New Chapter in Self-Investment: Why I’m Adding Real Estate to the Conversation

If you’ve been here for a while, you know that Globe Beyond Yourself started from a very personal place.

It was rooted in my love for travel, but more than that, it was about what travel represented for me, growth, perspective, and the courage to step outside of my comfort zone.

Over time, that idea expanded.

I began sharing more about what self-investment looked like in different seasons of my life:

  • prioritizing wellness and therapy
  • navigating career decisions
  • building confidence through solo experiences
  • and learning how to invest, both personally and financially

At its core, this space has always been about one thing:
cultivating confidence through self-investment.

The Shift: From Experiences to Assets

In this next season, that idea is evolving again.

After years of moving, exploring, and building a life rooted in experience, I felt a pull toward something more foundational. Something that would allow me to not only experience life, but also build within it.

That shift led me to one of the biggest decisions I’ve made so far:

I bought my first duplex in Houston.

Not just as a place to live, but as an intentional investment.

A step into ownership.
A step into responsibility.
A step into building something that extends beyond the moment.

Why Real Estate, and Why Now

If I’m being honest, real estate wasn’t something I jumped into quickly.

For a long time, I felt like I needed to know more, understand more, and be more prepared before taking the leap. Even with access to guidance, I still questioned whether I was ready.

And if you’ve ever felt that way—like you need to have everything figured out before you begin—you’re not alone.

What I’ve learned is this:

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start.
You just need to be willing to begin.

Real estate, for me, became another expression of self-investment. Not separate from my journey, but a continuation of it.

What This Season Looks Like

This new chapter isn’t just about owning property. It’s about stepping into roles and responsibilities I’ve never held before.

Right now, that looks like:

  • designing and setting up my space with intention
  • learning the realities of being a landlord
  • understanding the financial and operational side of ownership
  • and building something that contributes to long-term stability and impact

It’s new. It’s stretching me. And it’s exactly the kind of growth I’ve always talked about here.

This Is Still About Self-Investment

Even as the content evolves, the foundation remains the same.

Whether it’s booking a solo trip, making a career pivot, or investing in property, the throughline is still choosing to invest in yourself, even when it feels uncertain.

Because every version of that decision expands your capacity for confidence, growth, and possibility.

This is just the beginning of a new chapter for me. As I continue learning and growing in this space, I’ll be sharing more of what I’m learning along the way, from the lessons I didn’t expect to the resources that helped me get started.

If you’ve been curious about real estate or thinking about taking that first step, I hope this gives you a place to start.

More to come.
