Disconnect to Reconnect: 🧘🏾‍♀️ . Hey All, I’m disconnecting from social media and signing off for 21 days... starting today! #socialmediafast . Every year I do a Food Fast at the beginning of the year which helps to reset my body but this time I’m incorporating a Soul Fast which includes taking a break from IG and other social media to help reset my mind. Of course, there’s also a spiritual element to this which includes prayer, so it’s a total mind, body, and spirit fast but basically I’m limiting my distractions in order to get re-connected with God and become more aligned with my purpose. #disconnecttoreconnnect . 2019 Year in Review: My Year of Being Still🧘🏾‍♀️ . Reflecting on 2019 I spent most of the year staying local in the U.S. 🇺🇸 and taking things slow. I got to see more of America and check off some beautiful places like Antelope Canyon and Lake Tahoe. And when I did go international it was to nearby countries, reducing my overall travel time 🙌🏾 Check out my recap below, travel doesn’t have to be exhausting if you build in time for rest! . . Have you ever rolled up in a Tuk tuk? . #tbt to my first time riding in a #tuktuk just a few months ago while I was in the small town of #panajachel in Guatemala. It was definitely the most convenient & affordable option in the towns that surrounded Lake Atitlan as UBER/Lyft were not readily available. . Quick story: on one of our rides into town our Tuk tuk driver was falling asleep at the wheel. I didn’t notice it at first but then I was like YO! wake up! I was scared for my life and mad at the same... we were riding on the edge of a cliff and I did not want to go out like that. Stay woke people! Literally. . So while most of our Tuk tuk rides were fine, please please be alert when traveling and make sure you stay safe. Are you the type to play it safe? Does it scare you to step out and take a risk? . I’m super envious of people who take big risks so effortlessly. As adventurous as I might be in my travels, I’m still super risk-averse at my core. . I’ve noticed just how scared I am to do certain things, like invest or buy real estate, when I talk to risk takers and see just how differently our thought process is. . I mean, how can I be so fearless in one area and be slow to move in another? To make the risk less scary I ask lots of questions to make sure I have all the information I need but after a certain point we just have to JUMP and act on that thing we’re scared of! . . So, what have you been contemplating for a long time and have just been too scared to pull the trigger? . . Sometimes we just have to pull the trigger on things and figure it out as we go. Tag your risk-averse friend who needs to hear this and lets encourage one another!! . Shout out to my girls who took me to the gun range so I can learn to pull the trigger more 🔫😩 No for real, this was something I wanted to try for a long time and finally got to thanks to @brendastar08 and I know now it’s not for me 😄🤷🏾‍♀️ . How I went from I wish I could travel more but these bills won’t let me live...to globetrotting at any chance I got...on my own dime at that... . It’s easier than you think. . I simply decided that travel was a priority and my actions followed. I saved my PTO days, started purchasing experiences instead of material things, and simply built in trips into my annual plans and goals ❤️ .
