Just needed a little bit of Tahoe in my life 😍🌲🏔 . Summer Bucket List ✅ I’ve been making progress on my domestic bucket list this year and I’m so glad I finally got to see Lake Tahoe!! Let’s talk about Lake Tahoe on this #traveltuesday... . I recently got to take my parents to South Lake Tahoe for a mini getaway and they absolutely loved it!! The lake is so clear with blue-green water paired with🌲 and the Sierra Nevada Mountains 🏔 in the background, it doesn’t get more beautiful than this! . . Straddling the border of California and Nevada, this freshwater lake is huge (22 miles long and 12 miles wide) so there’s plenty to see and do on or around the lake like paddle boarding, skiing, and hiking! . . . Have you been to Lake Tahoe?!! I highly recommend you take your family and friends and check it out during the summer or winter seasons depending on what activities your interested in. It’s August 15th and summer is basically over 😩 #tbt to a fun getaway to Joshua Tree, CA @joshuatreenps with the girls. #roadtrip #summerisover😢 . . If you’re into hiking make sure to stop by 💀Skull Rock💀right off the main road in the park (which you can’t miss but somehow we did 😆) and enjoy the easy 1.7 Mile “Skull Rock Nature Loop” and explore #joshuatree 🥾 . . We also did the Barker Dam Trail on our trip but there’s many trails to choose from. Reflections of “HOME” 🏡 . . Anytime I travel to #seattle (where I grew up) people ask how’s LA treating you, are you ever going to move back?? Literally, every time I visit this question comes up and I’ve been gone for almost 8 years😩 . For those caught between two places this post is for you! My typical answer: unless I have a good reason I have no interest in moving back, even though my entire family is in Seattle. I know it sounds harsh but while it’s great to be close to family I don’t feel like I’m missing out because I frequently visit, or they visit me in Cali, or we meet up somewhere else...I actually see my family and close friends often. So if the only reason for me to be in Seattle is to be with family then at this stage in life, that reason doesn’t hold up. . . I know many who have given in to the pressure to “go back home” and have regretted it. So for now, I’m living in #losangeles because it makes sense for the season I’m in {as a single professional} and honestly I’d just rather be here for so many reasons but the obvious one is the weather! . I’m of the mindset that unless it makes sense for ME I’ll make the change but people often perceive that I make decisions based on everyone else. You would be mistaken. I’ve never been that person and if you know anything about me I generally don’t do what everyone else is doing and tend to do my own thing. The funny part is some think that because many of my friends have moved back to Seattle that I will automatically move back. Sorry, it doesn’t work like that for me. They had a reason to move, like getting married or a new job, and their decision does not dictate what I should do with my life. #wednesdaywisdom . At this point I feel LA is home and for now I’ll be here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m always flexible and open to an opportunity that arises or if my status changes like starting a family I’ll revisit this question no doubt. But until then, my advice... don’t let the pressures of family or decisions of friends dictate where you should be. Tag your favorite fashion inspo page...I’ll go first, I absolutely love everything about @being__her and their style for travel and everyday looks❤️ . I’m pretty simple when it comes to my style generally speaking, not a whole lot of accessories or trendy pieces but I do know how to look cute when I need to 💅🏾which is usually for church lol. I was definitely a tom-boy growing up, arguing with my mama anytime she tried to put me in a dress and I sometimes “borrowed” my brothers clothes that were way too big (sorry bro). . . I’ve always been my most comfortable self in pants….not even shorts because I didn’t like to show my skinny little legs lol. Then, now, and forever, pants are my ideal situation but if the weather calls for shorts I’ll switch it up. . . I tend to stick to classic pieces that I can wear for a while (across multiple environments) and I like to look put together but I also have to be comfortable or else what’s the point. Cue my @birkenstock sandals that go with me on every trip! #lifesaver . My fav places to shop are @zara and @nordstrom (including the Rack!!). . Happy Thursday & the first day of August!! . . I’m currently in Phoenix for a work trip and I can’t believe summer is almost over!!
